One morning, during a quiet stroll through the country on a rail trail, we met Gary. He told us he used to be a runner, but he now likes to walk & bike ride the trails. We enjoyed a friendly conversation, and when he found out we are walking cross-country, he took out his cell phone to make a call.

Gary owns a grocery store in the area, and he told the store manager to expect our arrival.

He told us to pick up whatever we needed – cold beverages, bananas, etc. – for our morning walk. It was his treat.
